Reveal Brighter, Smoother-Looking Skin With Chemical Peel

Sun exposure, breakouts, uneven pigmentation, and the natural aging process can gradually change the tone and texture of your complexion. VI Chemical Peel in Longview, TX, is a professional chemical peel designed to exfoliate the skin and support a clearer, smoother, more even-looking appearance while addressing several common complexion concerns.

At New You Aesthetics & Wellness, chemical peel treatments are approached with your individual skin and goals in mind. Rather than recommending a peel simply because you want brighter skin, the team considers your concerns, current skin condition, and treatment history to determine whether VI Chemical Peel is an appropriate option for you.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

VI Chemical Peel is a professional medium-depth chemical peel from VI Aesthetics that uses a blend of exfoliating ingredients to remove damaged surface skin and encourage renewal. Depending on the patient’s needs and the specific formulation used, Chemical Peel treatments may be used to improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation, acne-related concerns, rough texture, fine lines, and sun-damaged skin.

Unlike a traditional facial that primarily provides surface-level cleansing, exfoliation, and hydration, a chemical peel creates a controlled exfoliating response that continues after you leave the practice. Visible peeling can occur during the days following treatment as older surface skin sheds and fresher-looking skin becomes visible.

How Does Chemical Peel Work?

VI Chemical Peel works by applying a carefully formulated chemical solution to the skin, where its active ingredients create controlled exfoliation. This process helps loosen and remove damaged surface cells while supporting natural skin renewal beneath them.

The treatment itself is only the beginning of the process. Your skin continues responding over the following days, which is why following the provided post-peel instructions is an important part of treatment. Peeling intensity and the way the skin responds can vary from person to person.

What Skin Concerns Can Chemical Peel Address?

VI Chemical Peel may be considered for patients who want more active resurfacing than a traditional facial can provide. The specific concerns addressed depend on your skin, treatment goals, and the VI Peel formulation used.

Common concerns may include:
  • Hyperpigmentation: Chemical exfoliation can help improve the appearance of uneven areas of excess pigmentation.
  • Melasma: Certain VI Peel formulations may be used as part of a professional treatment plan for melasma and uneven pigmentation.
  • Sun Damage: VI Peel can help improve the appearance of visible discoloration associated with accumulated sun exposure.
  • Uneven Skin Tone: Removing damaged surface cells can support a clearer, more balanced-looking complexion.
  • Uneven Texture: Resurfacing can help improve roughness and promote smoother-looking skin.
  • Acne: Certain VI Peel formulations are designed for acne-prone and congested skin.
  • Post-Acne Marks: Chemical exfoliation may help improve the appearance of discoloration left behind after breakouts.
  • Fine Lines: Resurfacing can help soften the appearance of early visible signs of skin aging.

What Are the Benefits of a Chemical Peel?

VI Peel provides a more active form of professional exfoliation for patients whose goals extend beyond routine skin maintenance. By resurfacing damaged outer layers of skin, treatment can address several concerns within the same overall skin plan.
Potential benefits include:
  • Improves the appearance of uneven skin tone
  • Helps brighten dull-looking skin
  • Supports smoother-looking texture
  • Can improve the appearance of sun damage
  • Targets areas of visible hyperpigmentation
  • May improve post-acne discoloration
  • Can support acne-prone skin with an appropriate formulation
  • Softens the appearance of fine lines
  • Encourages a fresher, more even-looking complexion

Who Is a Candidate for Chemical Peel?

VI Chemical Peel may be appropriate for adults concerned with pigmentation, dullness, uneven tone and texture, acne-related concerns, sun damage, or early visible signs of aging. Because chemical peels create a more active skin response than a traditional facial, candidacy should be determined according to your skin condition, sensitivity, treatment history, and current skin care products.

A chemical peel may need to be postponed or modified when the skin is irritated, compromised, or recovering from another procedure. Current medications and active skin care ingredients may also affect treatment planning, making an appropriate skin assessment important before proceeding.

What to Expect During a VI Peel Treatment

Before your peel, your skin and concerns are reviewed to determine whether VI Peel is appropriate for you. The skin is then prepared before the peel solution is applied according to the treatment protocol. Some patients experience tingling or warmth during application, although individual sensations can vary.

Unlike a facial that is completely finished before you leave the practice, a Chemical Peel continues working after the appointment. You will receive instructions for caring for your skin at home as the exfoliation process develops over the following days.

What Is Recovery Like After Chemical Peel?

Visible peeling typically develops after treatment rather than immediately during the appointment. The skin may initially feel tight or appear mildly red before flaking or peeling becomes more noticeable. The amount of peeling varies, and more visible shedding does not necessarily mean a better treatment result.
It is important to allow the skin to shed naturally instead of picking or pulling at peeling areas. Following your post-treatment skin care instructions and protecting the complexion from unnecessary sun exposure are especially important while the skin is recovering.

When Will You See Results From Chemical Peel?

The complexion gradually changes as the peeling process progresses and damaged surface skin sheds. Once peeling subsides, patients may notice that their skin appears brighter, smoother, or more even, although the degree of improvement depends on the concern being treated and the individual response.
Some goals may require more than one peel or an ongoing skin care plan rather than a single treatment. Pigmentation, acne-related concerns, and visible signs of aging can also be influenced by factors that continue after treatment, including sun exposure, hormones, and home skin care.

How Long Do VI Chemical Peel Results Last?

VI Chemical Peel results vary depending on your starting skin condition, the concern being treated, home care, sun exposure, and whether additional treatments are recommended. Chemical peels improve existing visible concerns but cannot prevent future pigmentation, breakouts, or age-related skin changes from developing.

Consistent skin care and daily sun protection can help maintain the appearance of your complexion after treatment. Your future treatment schedule can be determined according to your skin’s response rather than automatically repeating a peel at a fixed interval.

Chemical Peel vs. Traditional Facials

VI Peel and Signature & Specialty Facials serve different purposes. Traditional facials focus primarily on professional cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and individualized skin maintenance, while VI Chemical Peel creates a more active chemical exfoliation process designed to resurface the complexion.

Patients who primarily want hydration or routine maintenance may prefer a facial, while someone concerned with more noticeable pigmentation, sun damage, texture, or other resurfacing goals may be better suited to a chemical peel. The appropriate choice depends on your skin rather than which treatment is considered more intensive.

Everyone is always friendly. Staff is great and answer any questions i might have. Little expensive but worth it to have everything taken care of at one place. With others you have to pay for labs and get them done somewhere else and no one to talk to about my concerns. They get me supplies if i need them and it’s pretty quick. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my trt therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions About VI Peel

Is Chemical Peel good for hyperpigmentation?

VI Peel may be used to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone by creating controlled exfoliation and removing damaged surface skin. The appropriate treatment approach depends on the cause and extent of pigmentation, and some concerns may require a series of treatments or additional skin care.

How long does your face peel after a Chemical Peel?

Visible peeling commonly occurs during the days following a Chemical Peel rather than immediately after application. The timing and amount of shedding vary between patients, and your provider will give you instructions for caring for your skin throughout the process.

Does a Chemical Peel help with acne?

Certain VI Peel formulations are designed for acne-prone skin and may help address congestion, breakouts, and post-acne discoloration. The appropriate peel depends on the type and severity of your acne, and more significant or persistent acne may require additional medical evaluation or treatment.

How often can you get a Chemical Peel?

The appropriate interval between VI Peel treatments depends on your skin, the formulation used, your treatment goals, and how your complexion responds. Your provider can determine whether another peel is appropriate after your skin has fully recovered and been reassessed.

What should you avoid after a Chemical Peel?

Avoid picking, peeling, or manually removing shedding skin after your treatment. You should also follow the provided instructions regarding sun exposure, exercise, heat, active skin care products, and other activities that could irritate the skin while it is recovering.
